VIP Exclusive Lego Minifigure set

Lego have announced the results of the vote for a best-of the collectable minifigures set. Or rather, they have announced the five figures they are re-releasing as a set; the wording of their statement makes me question if they are necessarily the most voted for:
We are delighted to announce the line-up for the VIP Exclusive LEGO® Minifigures set, to be released in summer 2012. We took the results from our vote poll back in July last year and wherever possible, selected the characters that our VIPs wanted brought back - this time with some unique coloured elements!
The five figures are: the Elf, Gorilla Suit Guy, Space Villain, Mummy, and Fisherman. Rather disappointingly all are from the third series, so no return for such early classics as the Spartan, Zombie, Cheerleader, Caveman, Mime, or Mariachi.

Based on that image the new coloured parts seem to be the gold scorpion (instead of much more unusual dark red from the original), a black hat instead of dark blue for the fisherman, and grey or silver fish instead of the original green, plus darker metallic artificial limbs for the space villain.

News of when the set will be released is to be announced in a future VIP email. So sign up if you haven't already.

On top of the disappointing selection of figures here I'm also sad that this set isn't what I initially imagined it might be when I read the email announcing the vote: I dreamed that the winning figure or figures would have a set built around them (a little bit of scenery or a small vehicle relevant to them). Now how much cooler would that have been, even for these five...
