Those observant chaps over at Brickset have uncovered a new Christmas set, presumably coming towards the end of this year as one of the Lego Shop promo sets, a snowglobe! Featured is Father Christmas, standing in front of a little Christmas tree, enclosed within a chamber (maybe not quite a globe!), with a sprinkling of round white tiles (aka snow) ready to shake around him.
As the instructions reveal (which Hoth Bricks tracked down on Lego's servers), the base is a little draw, so you could hide a small gift in it too!

Lego's 2015 Comic Con exclusive sets
Page created 24th June 2015. Last updated 1st July 2015.
Lego have announced three sets which will be available next month exclusively at the San Diego Comic Con. Based on some of the most popular of Lego's licenses, there will be a set each from Star Wars, DC Comics, and Marvel Comics. Each will be available in limited numbers at the convention, with attendees having to enter a ballot to even get a chance to buy them! A few will also be given away in competitions via Lego's Twitter - So there's a slim chance of getting them from afar. Continue below to check them all out.
UPDATE: Hoth Bricks have now released packaging images for all the sets too.
My personal favourite is the DC Comics set, a wonderfully retro Lego recreation of the cover of Action Comics #1, the first comic to feature Superman, back in 1938! Collider revealed details of this set, while the Lego Twitter shared the box:

The nice people over in the Lego corner of Reddit have uncovered a forthcoming Lego mini-build promotion at Toys'r'us in the US, which will see a micro-scale Jurassic World gate set, complete with a most desirable Jurassic World printed tile! Pictured is the poster promoting the event, which is surely worth attending if you can, for this great little build.
Meanwhile the promotional efforts for the Lego Jurassic World video game continue apace, including the release of the third poster image, this time featuring rampaging dinosaurs invading the Jurassic World labs.

Lego Jurassic World video game
There's just a couple of weeks left until the release of Jurassic World, and the accompanying Lego Jurassic World video game. The game will include Legoised versions of all four Jurassic Park movies, and along-side the familiar Lego video game features, will introduce the ability to play as the dinosaurs themselves, and to create new dinosaurs, by collecting and experimenting with DNA samples.
There have been several trailers released already, this latest one features a velociraptor riding a motorbike. Need I say more?
Continue after the jump for a look at some of the brilliant artwork released to promote the game, the previous trailers, and pre-order bonus Lego sets.

New mini modulars at Toys'r'us
In 2012 Lego released a set of mini versions of the big modular building sets, rescaling the first five buildings in the series down to tiny proportions. This year a similar effect has been used for a series of four buildings, available exclusively at Toys'r'us' for their Bricktober promotion.
While the new mini buildings reflect some of the same building types as the larger modular building sets, this time they are not really miniaturised versions of other sets, just generic smaller buildings. Included in the series is a cinema, pizzeria, fire station, and city hall, each set also comes with a couple of small vehicles to populate the streets of the tiny city.
Continue after the jump for a look at all four (images via Lego on Facebook):

Latest Shell promo sets
Lego have been working with the oil company Shell to produce promotional sets since way back in the 1960s. There have been regular releases ever since, and this year those come in the form of seven new polybag sets, available with purchases of Shell products. The promotion is expected to run in several countries, starting in Singapore a few weeks ago. Four cars, a podium/finish line, service station, and a tanker are on offer, with each set available for a limited period of time over consecutive fortnights, with the exception of the tanker, which is available by a different promotion (which varies from country to country).

New seasonal sets
Lego have several new seasonal sets on the way, and some out now, ready for the forthcoming autumn and winter festivities. Here's a look at the various holiday sets:
First up there's a new brick-built reindeer, with two Christmas presents, in set 40092. This set continues a range of seasonal sets this year which feature brick-built animals paired with some sort of accessory, following the Valentines bear (40085) and Easter bunny (40086) earlier this year, and other sets you'll see down page.
And even longer running seasonal range is Lego's series of Christmas tree baubles. Each one contains miniature Lego build, held within a bespoke Lego ball. At least two new designs are coming this year, a cat and log cabin:

Another exclusive The Ghost microfighter
Fan Expo Canada have announced a new exclusive Star Wars Rebels set that will be available at the convention next week. A small version of The Ghost, in a Microfighter-style set will be available, similar to those that have been offered at other conventions - Indeed very similar; it's basically the same set that was offered at the San Diego Comic Con, albeit with Kanan Jarrus minifigure included instead of the droid Chopper.
There is also a Twitter competition to win copies of the set, though that too is exclusive to Canadian residents.

Lego's Comic Con exclusive sets
Lego have announced several different sets which are available exclusively at the San Diego Comic Con this week. There will also be a number of minifigures that will on offer in a raffles throughout the event, or for those not attending, via a twitter raffle (follow @LEGO_Group for that).
There will be three sets on offer, all are limited to just a thousand copies each. The most eye-catching (even for someone who isn't especially excited by Batman or cars), is the classic TV batmobile, which comes with Batman and Robin. It must be agonising for Batman fans that this fun little car will be such a rarity. (Images via FBTB)
To celebrate the launch of Star Wars Rebels there will be a mini-version of the hero-ship, the Ghost. Like previous exclusives, and the Micro-fighter range, the ship will house an out-of scale minifigure too, in this case the new short astromech droid, Chopper. (Image via StarWars.com)
Finally, as I've previously reported separately, there will be a Guardians of the Galaxy set. Rocket Raccoon’s Warbird. (Image via Wall Street Journal)
On top of the sets, four minifigures, to be available via raffle, have also been announced. They are:

Comic Con mini-sets
FBTB has posted details and images of two Comic Con exclusive Lego sets. Both sets are essentially smaller versions of regular sets. From The Hobbit there's a Micro Scale Bag End (with a normal-sized Frodo minifigure), the smaller brother of 79003 An Unexpected Journey. While the Star Wars offering is a JEK-14 Mini Stealth Fighter, a smaller version of the forthcoming original Lego design from The Yoda Chronicles, 75018 Jek-14's Stealth Starfighter, which includes the super cool JEK-14 figure, with a transparent arm! Comic Con exclusive Super Hero minifigures
USA Today has revealed a quartet of Lego Super Heroes minifigures which will be available at this year's San Diego Comic Con. This is the third year in a row that Lego have offered exclusive figures at the convention, and like last year they are taking the opportunity to offer some of the comic book characters that they haven't got into regular sets (super-cool if you get one, super-frustrating if you don't and really want that character!). This years characters are the Superman in a black costume, Spider-Woman, Green Arrow, and Spiderman in a new variant of his costume:

Theme Guide: Galaxy Squad
Page created 25th March 2013. Last updated 24th July 2013.
2013 has a new Space theme from Lego, Galaxy Squad. The sets are coming with two waves, with the first batch already out, and a handful more coming later in the year. This new theme sees the return of space insects, last seen in any notable way all the back in 1999 with the Insectoids theme. Like Insectoids there are lots of insect shaped spaceships for the space bugs to fly. But that's not all, as like all recent Lego themes aimed at boys the story is shaped around conflict, so the insects are paired off against teams humans and robots, all in bright coloured livery. The humans in Galaxy Squad sets are a sort of combination of two recent Lego Space themes, taking the space-suits and alien battling weaponry from the Alien Conquest theme, and matching them with the mostly white (with accents of bright colours) classic sci-fi looking vehicles last seen in the Mars Mission theme.
The overall effect therefore is that Galaxy Squad seems really quite derivative from previous Lego Space efforts. The last space theme, Alien Conquest, was derivative in it's designs; those models were based on classic flying saucer looks - While drawing from well know sci-fi archetypes it was an approach to Space Lego hadn't done before, and as a result seemed much more original than this new theme. It would also be nice to see a modern Lego theme not built around conflict; how about some Star Trek-like seeking of strange new worlds for the purposes of scientific advancement? I'd love to see a space version of something like the old Divers sets, with astronauts collecting alien animals or something.
Anyway, lack of concept originality aside there is still much to offer in this new theme, the insect designs are a huge step up from the old Insectoids sets, and there is lots of stuff that is new, particularly with the alien and robot minifigures, as well as making best use of all the latest Lego tricks, colours and pieces. So lets have a look at the sets (continues after the jump):
70706 Crater Creeper
- One of the smaller insect sets, I think is the best of the range: This ant-like walker does a great job representing the animal it's based on while making it work as a vehicle too. It also has a fun pair of elasticated mandibles, so should be fun to play with as well. Nice detailing too; the mouth behind the mandibles is a printed title. As well as the insect there is a small hover-disc vehicle for the green clad human in the set. The alien minifigure is a vaguely termite-like creature which appears in several sets.
- Purchase: Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.es, Amazon.it.
- This set seems to be a sort of hybrid, taking the mouth, head, and wings, of a mosquito, and combing them with the a wasp-like abdomen, flexing inwards to sting, or in this case fire a little ball. The overall effect is quite menacing I think! There's another little flying vehicle for the red-clad human in this set, plus a robot. I quite like the robot head design here; it seems a little dinosaur-like. The insect minifigure in this set is a mosquito-like chap with a long mouth part and lovely wings - This guy is also armed with a brilliant weapon; a Lego scorpion with a saucepan on top and a small dish piece mounting on the front as the emitter.
- Purchase: Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.ca, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.es, Amazon.it, Amazon.co.jp.

Theme Guide: The Lone Ranger
Page created 8th March 2013. Last updated 10th April 2013.
On the way this summer is the new The Lone Ranger theme, based on the Disney movie, itself based on the classical radio/TV/film serials. Eurobrick's GRogall has now released high res images of the sets in the theme, allowing a close look at what's to come.
A little like the Prince of Persia and Pirates of the Caribbean sets before, I think these sets will be highly enjoyable whether you care for the film or not, because they give us a whole load of new themed sets, in this case wild west! Perhaps one of the best themes in all Lego history, Western sets first appeared from 1996-1997. Then there was nothing until a few re-issues in 2002, a couple of old-west style sets in the Toy Story range, and a smattering of wild west characters in the Collectable Minifigures series. In all that time Lego has developed a much large pallet of parts and colours, and willingness to create new parts, so these new sets, many not dissimilar to the classic Lego Western sets, are significant improvements on the old sets, with much more detailed designs, and new features.
Lets have a look at the sets (continues after the jump):
UPDATE: Alternative images, showing details of the play features in each set, have now been released. See them here.
79107 Comanche Camp
- One of the icons of the the classic Western range makes a return in this set, the Native American teepee. Teepees appear in three of the classic line, this small set is most like 6746 Chief's Tepee, with the teepee being the main feature of the set along side a few extra bits. It appears they have opted to use plastic rather than fabric for the actual teepee, which I think is unfortunate as it doesn't have the same natural look to it, but the printed designs are pretty nice.
- Purchase: Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.es, Amazon.it.
- Another set with some Lego Western ancestry, at first glance this set has a passing resemblance to 6761 Bandit's Secret Hide-Out, which was built into a gold mine. This new silver mine blows that out of the water though! It looks great, and has lots of play features. The cow skull part is new to me, and will be great set dressing! There's also a new old lady Native American hair-piece, plus the ingot piece introduced in the Pirates of the Caribbean sets, now in silver!
- Purchase: Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.it.
- Lego haven't done a western style stagecoach before, and they've really excelled themselves with this debut! If you squint this bares a bares a passing resemblance to the Kingdoms set 7188 King's Carriage Ambush (which has awesome gold wheels), but this new stagecoach is so much more detailed! Flip side of that detail is it seems a bit huge compared to the (three!) horses in the set. Also check out another brilliant new female hair-piece.
- Purchase: Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.es, Amazon.it.

The latest exclusive and promotional Lego sets
In my attempts to keep up to date on all the Lego sets that are to exist I have got a bit behind with the odd promotional and exclusive sets. So here's a little catch up:
The big news, a couple of months ago, was that the first Lego CUUSOO proposal in the international version of the platform got to the 10000 vote mark, and was oked by the Lego team. Coming some time this summer will be a Lego set based on the game Minecraft:
There are a couple of Lego shop at home special sets on the way too. Here's a video with the designers of the big new R2-D2 set:
The other is their latest aircraft sculpture; a new Sopwith Camel, a sequel of sorts to the previous 2001 edition.
Also in the more specialist arena is the latest set in Lego's Architecture range: Big Ben. This one should be out just in time to cash in on extra British tourism for the Olympics. I'd rather have the entire Palace of Westminster though; looks a bit odd just chopping off the end bit.
Also targeting tourists is a new airline promotional set, a neat little glider to add to your city airport. These are currently available from Virgin Atlantic and TUIfly.
Getting even more exclusive, there's a special mini Statue of Liberty set available from the New York Lego store, and several newly opening Lego stores have had limited supplies of Lego Store Lego sets:
Also exclusive to Lego stores, as well as Lego's online shop, will be two promotional minifigures with purchases of Star Wars and Super Heroes sets, during in promotional periods:
Already out in the wild is a special Darth Maul minifigure, so far made available at the New York Toy Fair and Legoland Windsor:
At some point there is also to be a single figure release of the Ninjago minifigure Rattla. (I'm hoping this will be a release I can get hold of as it's a figure I really like for it's Stargate Jaffa looks, but comes in sets I'm not interested in)
Finishing off the minifigure releases, there has also been a pack of firefighters at bulk out your city team:
Finally there have been a few seasonal releases for Easter and Valentine's Day, plus there's a tiny cake due at some point:
