Theme Guide: Scooby-Doo

Due out in a couple of months is the new Scooby-Doo theme, based on the long running spooky-mystery animated series.

Like Lego's previous Monster Fighters theme, the Scooby-Doo sets offer a variety of different supernatural foes, and assorted vehicles to apprehend them with. The series has a much friendly tone though, swapping out the gothic and steampunk elements for bright colours (all but one set comes with a blue and green Mystery Inc. vehicle), and more light-hearted antics rather than a focus on violence.

Continue below for a look at all the sets.

75902 The Mystery Machine

After the five main characters the Mystery Machine is surely the most iconic element in Scooby-Doo, so of course is due a set of it's own.

The brightly coloured vehicles has lots of printed details, alas mostly as stickers. The dish elements have useful printed flower designs at least.

Every set in the range includes Scooby and Shaggy. Note Scooby's head is a separate element, giving him more possibility than many small Lego animals. This set also includes Fred (his only appearance in this initial wave), and a zombie (which appears to have glow in the dark skin). Plus there's a spooky tree!

75900 Mummy Museum Mystery

The smallest set in the range in my personal favourite, an Egyptian museum exhibition, complete with a mummy (of course).

To the best of my recollections there has only been one museum themed Lego set before, 2013's City police set 60008 Museum Break-in. That tiny museum would need a bit of extension to fit in even this small exhibit.

There have of course been lots of Egyptian themed sets before, thanks to the excellent Adventurers and Pharaoh's Quest themes. This new set gives a nice nod to those classic Adventurers set with Johnny Thunder pictured on the museum wall.

75901 Mystery Plane Adventures

Does the pumpkin-headed horseman in this set fly? Well for some reason Scooby and Shaggy are chasing him in a lovely bright biplane.

That pumpkin headpiece is surely the highlight of the set. Scooby is also unique here, one of two sets with him in sitting position, and this time apparently flying the plane, as he;s got flight goggles on!

75903 Haunted Lighthouse

This is one of two lighthouse sets this year, the other is the Friends 41094 Heartlake Lighthouse, which includes an ice-cream shop! This more desolate building would still feel right at home among other modern world Lego buildings, even with the lovely skull hiding in it's rocky base! I especially like the detail of the handrail at the top of the building, very smartly designed.

Two ghoulish characters inhabit this building; a ghostly lighthouse keeper, and a sea-monster (a variation of the Monster Fighter's swamp creature).

What is the best way to defeat these foes? A speedboat and water-skis of course! Daphne joins Shaggy and Scooby this time, one of two sets she comes in.

75904 Mystery Mansion

Finally there's a big spooky mansion, with details in brilliant purple! Highlights include a lovely big clock, wonky pillars at the wrong door, and a superb greenhouse, complete with a carnivorous plant (FEED ME!).

Almost the entire cast of main characters makes it into this set, with just poor old Fred left out. It's the only set that includes Velma!

Joining the plant, the gang have a vampire, a ghost, and a knight to deal with.

71206 Lego Dimensions Team Pack

In addition to the main sets, there is also a Lego Dimensions Team Pack on the way. This includes two characters (you'll never guess who!), plus a very large Scooby-snack, and a mini Mystery Machine. All four upon purchase will then become playable in the Lego Dimensions game.

Purchase: Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr

Also due out latest this year is series 14 of the Collectable Minifigures series, which this time is themed on spooky monster type characters, a perfect collection of characters for Mystery Inc. to deal with.

  2. Everyone has it, but when a difficult period of study begins, it becomes very difficult to study, and I am glad that an example of a story outline example helps me do my homework, because there are any written works on it.

  4. Thanks for remembering me about my childhood. You know, this was my favorite show when I was a child. You know, I used to watch it every day and believe me I have seen all the episodes of this show. Seriously, I even wish to watch it at this moment, but right now I have to find a UK dissertation help service to write my dissertation.

  5. I was looking for law dissertation topics and came across this post. Suddenly I remember my childhood. The lesson I learned is that they convinced me that if I ever wanted to be a good detective, I needed two things—good friends that would have my back, and a loyal dog. But the two most important lessons that Scooby Doo teaches anyone are about skepticism and never losing sight that the scariest monsters are the ones we create ourselves.

  7. Scooby-Doo is a timeless classic! Thanks for this informative theme guide. Speaking of mysteries, if you're looking to rejuvenate your skin, consider PRP Dubai. It's the secret to youthful skin, just like solving mysteries is Scooby and the gang's specialty.
