...offer new story content exploring the time period between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, adding additional insight into the movie and its characters
The game will also offer new game-play features including:
...the “Multi-Builds” system, where players can choose from multiple building options to advance the game; new blaster combat, in which players use surrounding environments to drive back the First Order during intense Blaster Battles; and high-speed flight gameplay through arena-based battles and dogfights in space, while gamers utilize a multitude of vehicles along the way, including the legendary Millennium Falcon. In addition, enemies can now build, too, allowing stormtroopers to support each other with reinforcements, air strikes, and heavy artillery, adding another layer of danger to the game.
Here's the trailer, itself a parody of the film's trailer, packed full of typical Lego humour. Continue below for the first details of variant editions of the game!
The third wave of expansions for Lego Dimensionsare out now, and to mark their release Lego have released a fun new trailer featuring three of the doctors now present in the mega Lego crossover game. Curiously enough all three of the series featured here first came to Lego via Ideas sets!
Continue below for further details of all the latest expansions, and another trailer!
The latest releases include a new Ghostbusters level pack, which itself includes a Peter Venkman minifigure, Ecto-1, and a ghost trap, as well as the new level content in-game. This is the first of several Ghostbusters sets for Dimensions, with Slimer and Stay Puff fun packs on the way later in the year.
There's a new DC Comics team pack, including the Joker and Harley Quinn as well as matching vehicles. These join the previous Wonder Woman and Cyberborg fun pack releases from the DC universe, which will see several other characters coming to the game later this year too.
And finally, joining the rather numerous previous Ninjago releases in the game, there's a Sensei Wu fun pack, which also includes a white dragon (made in part using a white croissant!)
In addition to the crossover trailer above, there is also a Ghostbusters specific trailer to highlight the content of the new level pack:
To mark the release, there is of course a launch trailer, which creatively uses sound effects from the game to create something of a soundtrack:
For a bit more of an idea of game-play, this previous trailer is perhaps a little more useful, with a particular focus on the open world aspects of the game - New York looks rather impressive!
A new trailer has been released for Lego Dimensions, and this one features the franchise I am most existed about being included in the game, Doctor Who! The trailer showcases the Lego Doctor, TARDIS, Daleks, Cybermen, Clara Oswald, and every incarnation of the Doctor in Lego form! Plus the usual crossovers with other characters from across the multiverse that only Lego Dimensions can make happen.
Doctor Who will be coming to Lego Dimensions in the form of a Level Pack, some time after the initial release of the game. UPDATE: And Lego have now revealed there will also be a fun pack, containing a Cyberman minifigure and brick-built Dalek! Images of both packs via Brickset:
With the release of Jurassic World, Lego have been busy releasing their own Isla Nublar animated adventures to promote the accompanying Lego range. Naturally they are full of all the wit and charm you would expect from a good Lego animation. Enjoy (more after the jump):
This first one takes us through an average morning getting Jurassic World ready for visitors:
The latest trailer for the forthcoming toy-to-life video game, Lego Dimensions, is out, and as I've yet to post about said game, I thought I'd play catch up and look at all the trailers so far.
If you've somehow missed news of the game, Lego Dimensions will bring together a host of Lego themes, both original Lego creations and numerous licensed properties (some making their Lego debut), in a single video game, allowing characters and vehicles from different Lego worlds to interact.
The core of the game is the toy pad, which allows different characters and vehicles into the game. The starter pack (available on Playstation 3, Playstation 4, X-Box 360, X-Box One, and WiiU) includes the toy pad, plus Batman (DC Comics), Gandalf (Lord of the Rings), and Wyldstyle (The Lego Movie), as well as the batmobile.
Additional characters, vehicles, gadgets, and game content will then be available as separate expansions, in the form of level packs, which include new levels in the game, plus a new character and vehicle/gadget. Other expansions will just add extra characters and vehicles/gadgets; either team packs, which contain two characters and two vehicles/gadgets, or fun packs, which add one extra character and vehicle/gadget.
To kick off promotion of the game Lego released a couple of rather cinematic trailers, focusing on the drama and scope of the licenses involved (continue after the jump to watch them all).
The first trailer for the forthcoming Lego Marvel Avengers video game has been released, giving us a look at the Legoised interpretations of scenes from the Avengers movies:
The Facebook page for the game has also released artwork of the Avengers team, continue after the jump to check out that, and the pre-order exclusive minifigure:
The nice people over in the Lego corner of Reddit have uncovered a forthcoming Lego mini-build promotion at Toys'r'us in the US, which will see a micro-scale Jurassic World gate set, complete with a most desirable Jurassic World printed tile! Pictured is the poster promoting the event, which is surely worth attending if you can, for this great little build.
Meanwhile the promotional efforts for the Lego Jurassic World video game continue apace, including the release of the third poster image, this time featuring rampaging dinosaurs invading the Jurassic World labs.

A new video game, Lego Worlds, has launched, available for early access play on Steam; that is to say, it's not quite finished yet, but they are welcoming players to help shape the game as they develop further features. At the moment the world building game, rather similar to Minecraft, has landscape generating and building features, and some animals and vehicles you can ride around. In future there will be a greater variety of environments, more pre-built vehicles and models, more minifgure character options, and multi-player play. Here's the official description:
LEGO® Worlds is a galaxy of procedurally-generated Worlds made entirely of LEGO bricks which you can freely manipulate and dynamically populate with LEGO models. Explore each World and unlock new discoveries: from cowboys and giraffes to vampires and polar bears, to steamrollers, race cars, and colossal digging machines! Use the multi-tool to shape environments and alter any World to your liking: raise the terrain to create vast mountain ranges, or enter the Brick-by-Brick editor to build anything you can imagine. Save your creations to build with them again. LEGO Worlds enables you to populate your Worlds with many weird and wonderful characters, creatures, models, and driveable vehicles, and then play out your own unique adventures. Probably not worth upsetting the Skeletons though…
And here's the trailer:

There's just a couple of weeks left until the release ofJurassic World, and the accompanying Lego Jurassic World video game. The game will include Legoised versions of all four Jurassic Park movies, and along-side the familiar Lego video game features, will introduce the ability to play as the dinosaurs themselves, and to create new dinosaurs, by collecting and experimenting with DNA samples.
There have been several trailers released already, this latest one features a velociraptor riding a motorbike. Need I say more?

Lego and Warner Brothers have announced a new animation in their series Lego films based of DC Comics characters. Coming in August will be Justice League: Attack of the Legion of Doom!, available on DVD and bluray, and featuring lots of heroes and villains. Here's the blurb for the film, as announced by IGN:

With this super powered team of terror and a plan to attack the top-secret government site, Area 52, can Lex finally be on the verge of victory? Sound the alarm and get ready for the bricks to fly when Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and the rest of the Justice League face off against the world’s greatest Super-Villains! Lego, Warner Brothers, and TT Games have confirmed there will be a new Lego Jurassic World video game accompanying the release of the Lego Jurassic World product line, alongside the new movie this summer. And it won't just feature Jurassic World, the game will transform all four Jurassic Park films into Lego form - Hopefully previewing sets from wider franchise in future physical Lego sets!
Reporting on the game, Entertianment Weekly also revealed some of the unique features: Apparently players will be able to play as dinosaurs, and collect amber, containing dino DNA, to create custom species.
Oh, and there's also this gloriously silly teaser trailer:
Continue after the jump for more on this, and other forthcoming Lego video games:
There's a new episode of the Lego Star Wars animation series The Yoda Chronicles on the way. Clash of the Skywalkers will see Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader dueling, with the usual Lego animation wit and silliness. Here's the description of the episode (via Ain't It Cool News):
The enraged Emperor sends Darth Vader and his entire fleet to find and destroy Luke as revenge for his destruction of the Holocrons. Luke, however, finds inspiration from the last remaining Holocron -- a daring move pulled off years earlier by his father, Anakin. The emboldened Luke uses Anakin’s daring move to lure Vader and the Imperial Fleet into a trap that could turn the tide for the Rebellion… or lead to disaster.
Unusually it appears the outcome of the confrontation is down to viewer preferences, as endings for both sides have been animated, to be broadcast as determined by social media votes.
Several trailers have been released, check out more after the jump:
If the trailer is anything to go by, the title might be misleading, as the Justice League and Bizarro League appear to be working side by side against the malicious forces of Darkseid.
UPDATE: ToonBarn have revealed further contents from this release. In addition to the main animation the disc will also included another recent animation, Batman Be-Leaguered (see previous report for a trailer). There will also be a blooper reel, and a featurette exploring Bizarro.
UPDATE 2: Amazon have now put up a listing for this, including another image, showing the full bluray cover (without the minifigure packaging), and the Batzarro minifigure loose. Check it out after the jump:
The release date for the latest Lego video game, the third based on Batman (and the wider DC Comics universe) was announced today. Coming in November is Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, which takes the Batman adventure into outer space. The snazzy space-cape cover-art was also released today.
Several trailers have already been released for the game, which demonstrate typical Lego video game humour, and a healthy dose of sci-fi in this super-hero game.

This weekend will see the first airing in the US of Brick Like Me, a special Legofied episode of The Simpsons. Ahead of the release there's lot of promotion about, giving us a look at the Lego version of Springfield, and a somewhat frustrating vision of what The Simpsons characters look like as proper Lego minifigures - Not the molded head creations that have made it into production in the Lego The Simpsons range (oh how I long for a Marge Simpson hair-piece I could use on any minifigure).
The episode appears to take place in version of Springfield where being made of Lego is the norm. Through interesting with a Friends-esque construction set, Perky Patty's Princess Shop, Homer starts to revert to his normal 2D animated self.
Here are two trailers. The shorter first one highlights some of the Lego Movie-style humour, while the second longer trailer is more dramatic:

Funcom have launched a new website for their forthcoming Minifigures Online game. The website has a few partially populated sections, such as character profiles, revealing each minifigure's special abilities, and a guide to the "worlds" of the Minifigures game (although so far only Pirate World is previewed). You can also sign up to take part in the beta testing of the game. And they have released a new trailer demonstrating some of the game's features:
For more on the Minifigures game, see my earlier report, with the previously release trailer and screenshots.
FThe second trailer has been released for The Lego Movie, and it's full of awesome:
I love everything about this! How EVERYTHING is made of Lego. How there are so many nods back to older Lego sets, and clever building techniques. How all the animation is done as if it were a real Lego stop motion. How Batman is so into himself and ever so slightly inept!
Continue after the jump for screencaps to scrutinise all the cool details. Plus a look at the teaser trailers that preceeded the release of this one!
