The third wave of expansions for Lego Dimensions are out now, and to mark their release Lego have released a fun new trailer featuring three of the doctors now present in the mega Lego crossover game. Curiously enough all three of the series featured here first came to Lego via Ideas sets!
Continue below for further details of all the latest expansions, and another trailer!
The latest releases include a new Ghostbusters level pack, which itself includes a Peter Venkman minifigure, Ecto-1, and a ghost trap, as well as the new level content in-game. This is the first of several Ghostbusters sets for Dimensions, with Slimer and Stay Puff fun packs on the way later in the year.
There's a new DC Comics team pack, including the Joker and Harley Quinn as well as matching vehicles. These join the previous Wonder Woman and Cyberborg fun pack releases from the DC universe, which will see several other characters coming to the game later this year too.
The Doctor Who world gets populated by a Cyberman and Dalek in the latest fun pack, which builds upon the previous Doctor Who level pack.
Also subject of a previous level pack, Back to the Future returns with a Doc Brown fun pack, complete with his time train!
And finally, joining the rather numerous previous Ninjago releases in the game, there's a Sensei Wu fun pack, which also includes a white dragon (made in part using a white croissant!)
In addition to the crossover trailer above, there is also a Ghostbusters specific trailer to highlight the content of the new level pack:

New Lego batmobile
Lego have revealed the latest batmobile set, based on the design from next year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie. Wall Street Journal released an image, ahead of it being on show at the San Diego Comic Con. The final set will apparently also feature two other characters and another vehicle.
The set will be available early next year, ahead of the release of the movie.

Lego's 2015 Comic Con exclusive sets
Page created 24th June 2015. Last updated 1st July 2015.
Lego have announced three sets which will be available next month exclusively at the San Diego Comic Con. Based on some of the most popular of Lego's licenses, there will be a set each from Star Wars, DC Comics, and Marvel Comics. Each will be available in limited numbers at the convention, with attendees having to enter a ballot to even get a chance to buy them! A few will also be given away in competitions via Lego's Twitter - So there's a slim chance of getting them from afar. Continue below to check them all out.
UPDATE: Hoth Bricks have now released packaging images for all the sets too.
My personal favourite is the DC Comics set, a wonderfully retro Lego recreation of the cover of Action Comics #1, the first comic to feature Superman, back in 1938! Collider revealed details of this set, while the Lego Twitter shared the box:

Lego Dimensions, the trailers
The latest trailer for the forthcoming toy-to-life video game, Lego Dimensions, is out, and as I've yet to post about said game, I thought I'd play catch up and look at all the trailers so far.
If you've somehow missed news of the game, Lego Dimensions will bring together a host of Lego themes, both original Lego creations and numerous licensed properties (some making their Lego debut), in a single video game, allowing characters and vehicles from different Lego worlds to interact.
The core of the game is the toy pad, which allows different characters and vehicles into the game. The starter pack (available on Playstation 3, Playstation 4, X-Box 360, X-Box One, and WiiU) includes the toy pad, plus Batman (DC Comics), Gandalf (Lord of the Rings), and Wyldstyle (The Lego Movie), as well as the batmobile.
Additional characters, vehicles, gadgets, and game content will then be available as separate expansions, in the form of level packs, which include new levels in the game, plus a new character and vehicle/gadget. Other expansions will just add extra characters and vehicles/gadgets; either team packs, which contain two characters and two vehicles/gadgets, or fun packs, which add one extra character and vehicle/gadget.
To kick off promotion of the game Lego released a couple of rather cinematic trailers, focusing on the drama and scope of the licenses involved (continue after the jump to watch them all).

Theme Guide: DC Comics Super Heroes (2015)
Page created 5th October 2014. Last updated 28th December 2014.
For the 2015 wave of DC Super Heroes Lego sets, the Justice League is being allowed a bit more into the spotlight, and although Batman (who has dominated the DC Super Heroes range so far) still features in three of the four regular retail sets, there is more space for other characters and not-bat-vehicles.
Four sets include a new "super jumper" part, which appears to be there to allow you to launch Batman, Superman, or whoever else you like, into flight.
Check out all the sets below. UPDATE: Extra sets and images below:
76028 Darkseid Invasion
As is quite typical of this wave of releases, this set features quite a varied assortment of characters (aesthetically at least, I've no idea about their in-universe affiliations), with the most eye-catching to me being Hawkman, whose feathery wings and winged-helmet I can see have some nice fantastical applications beyond the super-hero realm.
The centrepiece of the set is a big rather oddly proportioned jet, which seems to be facing off against what is basically a hovering turret.

Batman vs Superman
I'm not all that knowledgeable about comic books, so when the new movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was announced I was a bit perplexed: Aren't those both "good guys", how the heck could some guy with gadgets battle someone with actual super powers??
Well, that's exactly what Brick Nerd has examined in this amusing new brick-film, Batman vs Superman. It's very well made, and done so with enough love put into it that it even has a poster, by Paul Lee.

Justice League vs Bizarro League
News of another Lego DC Comics Super Heroes animation has surfaced. Coming early next year is Justice League vs Bizarro League. A post on the Blu-ray.com forums has revealed the bluray packaging, and the Batzarro minifigure that will be included.
If the trailer is anything to go by, the title might be misleading, as the Justice League and Bizarro League appear to be working side by side against the malicious forces of Darkseid.
UPDATE: ToonBarn have revealed further contents from this release. In addition to the main animation the disc will also included another recent animation, Batman Be-Leaguered (see previous report for a trailer). There will also be a blooper reel, and a featurette exploring Bizarro.
UPDATE 2: Amazon have now put up a listing for this, including another image, showing the full bluray cover (without the minifigure packaging), and the Batzarro minifigure loose. Check it out after the jump:

Batman movie, and more new Lego screen productions
Love the deadpan, bat-punning, too cool Batman of The Lego Movie? Well good news, forget all the big live-action Batman movies, the future of this character lies in a new Lego movie, Lego Batman, which will see Will Arnett reprising his role from The Lego Movie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, this new film in the developing Lego movie franchise is being fast-tracked into production, and is set to be the third Lego movie, due for release in 2017, after the Ninjago movie in 2016. As a result The Lego Movie 2 will likely be pushed back to later than the originally planned 2017 release.
Chris McKay, the animation supervisor on The Lego Movie, is set to direct a screenplay by Seth Grahame-Smith. Roy Lee, Dan Lin, Phil Lord, and Christopher Miller, will be producing, in their roles overseeing the Lego movie franchise.
If 2017 seems a long way off, fear not, as Lego Batman is also returning to the small screen in the coming weeks, in a new one-off animation, Batman Be-Leaguered, which as the name implies, also features various Justice League characters. Here's the blurb (via Comic Book Movie):
This new animation looks to be in the same vein as the previous Lego Batman: The Movie - DC Super Heroes Unite, and is also set for release just in time to support the release of the third Lego Batman video game. Continue after the jump for a look at the trailer for this, plus even more news of Lego on TV:

Batman prides himself on being a loner, a totally self-sufficient one-man-band. Just ask anyone; Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, Alfred… anyone. So, he is understandably irritated when his nightly cleanup of Gotham City villains is interrupted by Superman, who pesters Batman to join his new superhero team, The Justice League. After Batman makes it quite clear to the Man of Steel that his invitation has been declined, Superman flies off disappointed… whereupon he is overcome with a strange energy and vanishes!

2015 Lego set rumours
Page created 15th August 2014. Last updated 31st August 2014.
Rumours are starting to surface of sets to come in 2015 and late 2014. I shall be updating this article as more news comes.
First up, new themes! Neoape has reported lists for several completely new lines for 2015:
Jurassic World
Well this one was a surprise, and one I was pretty sceptical about when rumours first started to surface - You see just last year it was announced Hasbro had secured the Jurassic Park construction toy license, ready to produce sets for the then untitled fourth Jurassic Park film, which we now know will be Jurassic World. Hasbro's Lego knock-off, Kre-O, has yet to deliver any legacy Jurassic Park sets, and then we hear Lego has somehow secured the license - Very unusual! No set names have been released yet, but Neoape suggest there will be five different Jurassic World sets.
Elves
Another surprise is Elves, which going by the set names seem likely to be aimed at girls, and one might imagine will use the Friends-style minidolls. Neoape list six sets in this new theme:
- 41071 Aira’s Creative Workshop
- 41072 Naida’s Spa Secret
- 41073 Naida’s Adventure Ship
- 41074 Azari & The Magic Bakery
- 41075 Treetop Hideaway
- 41076 Farran & The Crystal Hollow
This new car-based theme might be new TV tie-in too, Brick Fantatics seem to think this could be a Top Gear theme. Seven sets are coming, whatever it's called:
- 75899 LaFerrari
- 75908 458 Italia GT2
- 75909 McLaren P1
- 75910 Porsche 918 Spyder
- 75911 McLaren Mercedes Pitstop
- 75912 Porsche 911 GT Finish
- 75913 F14 & Scuderia Ferrari

Lego Batman 3
The release date for the latest Lego video game, the third based on Batman (and the wider DC Comics universe) was announced today. Coming in November is Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, which takes the Batman adventure into outer space. The snazzy space-cape cover-art was also released today.
Several trailers have already been released for the game, which demonstrate typical Lego video game humour, and a healthy dose of sci-fi in this super-hero game.

New sets revealed at Comic Con
Several new sets coming out later this year and in 2015 will be revealed by Lego at Comic Con this week. They have also previewed a few of these online, so here's a round up of the new sets:
Due out later this year, alongside the release of The Battle of the Five Armies, the final film in The Hobbit trilogy, will be The Lonely Mountain. The set centers on Smaug and his occupation of the dwarf mines. As well the dragon the 866-piece set includes Bilbo Baggins, Balin, Dwalin, Ori, and Gloin (via The Hollywood Reporter).
Due next year will be the Wookiee Gunship from Star Wars Rebels. It comes with a trio of Wookies, and the Jedi Kanan Jarrus. (vis MTV).
Also due early next year is 76025 Green Lantern vs Sinestro, the latest addition to the DC Super Heroes range. This set comes with, as the name implies, the Green Lantern, Sinestro, plus a cool white-space-suited Batman. The ship here has lots of transparent green parts, and that little clip thing at the bottom of the image apparently spring launches Batman into flight (via Kotaku).
Announced a few days ago, there's the huge UCS Tumbler set, due out in September. You can see lots of images, and a designer video, in my previous report.
There's also the promise of a new 2015 The Lego Movie set being revealed. Yahoo Movies have posted a small image showing Batman, Angrykitty with a Micro Manager and robot skeleton.Presumably these items will all accompany some other creation though, so I expect here's more news to come on this set. UPDATE: FBTB have confirmed this is in fact the full extent of the set, which is called 70817 Batman and Super Angry Kitty Attack.
The Lego press release about Comic Con also mentioned the fourth series of Mixels sets will be revealed too.I'll update as further news comes. UPDATE: And indeed they were, they showed real models at the Comic Con (The Brick Fan has some photos), while the Lego Facebook page posted these renderings. It seems the tribes are something like, night, fire (again), and Buzz Lightyear:

Lego's Comic Con display pieces
As well as sets you can buy, Lego are also showing of lots of different display pieces at the San Diego Comic Con this week.
First up, and perhaps the most impressive build, is Smaug, the dragon from The Hobbit, which took more than eighty-three-thousand bricks to complete, and comes complete with a little Bilbo Baggins (via When Nerds Attack):
Less of a giant, but coming at life-size, is Chopper, the new droid from the Star Wars animated series, Rebels (via MTV):
Continue after the jump for many more builds, including more Star Wars, Super Heroes, Ninja Turtles, and Ghostbusters:
