Lego Dimensions wave 3 brings many doctors to the crossover game

The third wave of expansions for Lego Dimensions are out now, and to mark their release Lego have released a fun new trailer featuring three of the doctors now present in the mega Lego crossover game. Curiously enough all three of the series featured here first came to Lego via Ideas sets!

Continue below for further details of all the latest expansions, and another trailer!

The latest releases include a new Ghostbusters level pack, which itself includes a Peter Venkman minifigure, Ecto-1, and a ghost trap, as well as the new level content in-game. This is the first of several Ghostbusters sets for Dimensions, with Slimer and Stay Puff fun packs on the way later in the year.

There's a new DC Comics team pack, including the Joker and Harley Quinn as well as matching vehicles. These join the previous Wonder Woman and Cyberborg fun pack releases from the DC universe, which will see several other characters coming to the game later this year too.

The Doctor Who world gets populated by a Cyberman and Dalek in the latest fun pack, which builds upon the previous Doctor Who level pack.

Also subject of a previous level pack, Back to the Future returns with a Doc Brown fun pack, complete with his time train!

And finally, joining the rather numerous previous Ninjago releases in the game, there's a Sensei Wu fun pack, which also includes a white dragon (made in part using a white croissant!)

In addition to the crossover trailer above, there is also a Ghostbusters specific trailer to highlight the content of the new level pack:

Lego Dimensions, the trailers

The latest trailer for the forthcoming toy-to-life video game, Lego Dimensions, is out, and as I've yet to post about said game, I thought I'd play catch up and look at all the trailers so far.

If you've somehow missed news of the game, Lego Dimensions will bring together a host of Lego themes, both original Lego creations and numerous licensed properties (some making their Lego debut), in a single video game, allowing characters and vehicles from different Lego worlds to interact.

The core of the game is the toy pad, which allows different characters and vehicles into the game. The starter pack (available on Playstation 3, Playstation 4, X-Box 360, X-Box One, and WiiU) includes the toy pad, plus Batman (DC Comics), Gandalf (Lord of the Rings), and Wyldstyle (The Lego Movie), as well as the batmobile.

Additional characters, vehicles, gadgets, and game content will then be available as separate expansions, in the form of level packs, which include new levels in the game, plus a new character and vehicle/gadget. Other expansions will just add extra characters and vehicles/gadgets; either team packs, which contain two characters and two vehicles/gadgets, or fun packs, which add one extra character and vehicle/gadget.

To kick off promotion of the game Lego released a couple of rather cinematic trailers, focusing on the drama and scope of the licenses involved (continue after the jump to watch them all).

Review: 21103 Back to the Future - Delorean Time Machine

Out now is fourth set to successfully pass through the Lego Cuusoo system; gathering ten-thousand supporters, ticking all Lego's boxes, and being made into a real Lego set.

21103 Back to the Future Delorean Time Machine comes in a slightly sturdier box than your average set, with the front opening as a flap, allowing you to use the box as a tray. The instructions are also a bit chunkier than your average book for a set of this size, printed on thicker paper than usual. I guess Lego want to give a nice impression for any Lego-newbies picking this up for the Back to the Future novelty.

The first picture here has the box and everything in it, which includes a brick-separator, and whole bunch of extra parts; not just your usual spares of the smaller bits, but addition parts which allow you to rebuild the set in three different forms, which is probably the coolest, and one of the most unique, aspects of this set.

The first build, with the various extra parts to tweak it into other versions of the Delorean.
Continue after the jump for a look at the parts, minifigures, and features of this set:

Official images of the Back to the Future Cuusoo set

Eurobrick's GRogall has released official images of the soon to be released Back to the Future Delorean time machine set, the fourth Cuusoo set, selected via social media support on the Cuusoo website. It's awesome to see Cuusoo used to get a cinema classic in Lego form, something which almost certainly would never happened otherwise (without a Back to the Future 4/reboot at least). Check it out:

No images yet... UPDATE: 1000steine has posted a photo of the back of the box... UPDATE 2: Brick Fanatics posted a clear version of the image from the back of the box, showing the alternate builds that are  included to model the Delorean after its other appearance in the Back to the Future trilogy:

Brick Fanatics also posted images showing the printed parts from this set. See those after the jump:

First look at Back to the Future set

The latest Lego Stores' calendar-leaflet has been released, which includes the first image released of the forthcoming Lego Cuusoo Back to the Future Delorean set:

BrickNews have also released a document which has more images of the set, including a glimpse at the box, and the minifigures included. The document also reveals that, like the original Cuusoo project proposal, the set with include parts and instructions to build three versions of the Delorean, representing it's look from each of the films in the Back to the Future trilogy:

Here are the three originally proposed versions of the set. As you can see, while it's pretty close to the submitted designs, there have been some tweaks. Notably the mechanism for turning the wheels has been changed, and looks much neater as the result. The bonnet design is also different, and while it doesn't look as smooth, it probably does allow a more stable build when adding the module on the front of the third version.

The Delorean will be available from Lego stores and online in July.

Lego CUUSOO: One in, one out.

A new Lego CUUSOO proposal has reach the required 10000 supporters required to be considered for production. This time it's a spaceship from EVE. From now on CUUSOO are doing quarterly reviews of successful sets, so they wont be deciding on this one until June; along with any other ideas that make the number by then. The Back to the Future DeLorean proposal is already very close.

Meanwhile the last idea to get to 10000 has not past approval. Lego have deemed The Winchester from Shaun of the Dead inappropriate for their core target audience of children.

All my CUUSOO focus is currently on this amazing Jurassic Park idea. While it has barely any support so far I think it's fantastic, and representing such an iconic scene in cinema history is surely deserves a shot. So go support it!
